banshee223 Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Ok, I went riding today and when I started taking off everything was fine. I got a little ways from the truck and it was like I just hit neutral running wide open. I stopped and checked my chain and it was still on and then I checked my oil and it was low, so I pulled it back to the truck and went to the house. I got home stuck some oil in it to see if that may have been what the cause was. That helped but still no go. When it was in gear and you tried to take off the wheels was staggering like they were wanting to go but it wasn't. I think it may be the clutch. Also I noticed that when it was in gear you could push it backwards and it wasn't grabbing. I hope it is just the clutch and nothing major in side the case. Let me know what yall think, and if it is just the clutch what is a good brand to go back with and is the Bel Ray gear savor oil any good because that was what was in it. Thanks Quote
banshee421twin Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Rip here apart and tell us what u see Quote
banshee223 Posted March 17, 2006 Author Report Posted March 17, 2006 I plan on taking it apart but I don't have the time right now. But yall just think it is my clutch and nothing serious. Where can I buy a repair manuel at. I know it's probably not hard to change the clutch out but I would still like to have one for future stuff. Quote
Wallrat Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Dealership, ebay, almost anywhere will have a Clymers. Clutch is an easy job. Take ya an hour start to finish. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 yea stick with bell ray gear saver oil, I like the 85 weight. Quote
banshee223 Posted March 18, 2006 Author Report Posted March 18, 2006 Ok I checked the clutch and it is shot. So what is a good clutch to go back with, Dirt Digger or EBC EP Race clutch kit. The EBC kit has kevlar lined friction plates, I think the EBC will be better but the price for it is $149 and the dirt digger is about $100 I think. Also how do you know if the clutch basket is bad, I think it looks fine but not really sure what i'm looking for, and when I go back with it should I go back with the Bel Ray gear saver 80wt or 85wt. So when I put the new clutch in is there any special way to adjust it. This clutch seemed like when it was in gear and the clutch was pulled in, it was still wanting to roll and I don't want that because to me it seems like that would burn the clutch up fast. Please someone let me know about this. Thanks Quote
Wallrat Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Depends on which machine in ur sig this is for... The dirty digger is only good up to about 60HP. For the stroker ur gonna need osmething heartyier. Quote

Toomey Banshee Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Get ahold of Jeff @ Fast toys. As far as your clutch basket, check out where the clutch plates sit inside of the basket, if there are any grooves your gonna want to file em down, if you can, if you cant get a new basket from Jeff.
