Shee-Male Posted March 12, 2006 Report Share Posted March 12, 2006 that would deffinatley be a job for powdercoat! You can paint them but it would cost almost the same in materials. To paint them you would need to scuff them up, then use a bare metal etching primer, then a durable epoxy paint and clear coat for a nice shine. They will chip but the worst part is where the lip and the tire meet, all the dirt and sand that get in there just rubs the paint right off , you could only get away with it if you only paint the insde portion. I am currently exparimenting with rim decals like the ones that come on the Troy Lee edition Predaturds, and so far it looks pretty cool! 4everwantedbanshee Posted March 13, 2006 Report Share Posted March 13, 2006 i used some idustrial enamel(sp) stuff. it works great . i painted over the paint and it was like 30 degrees outside. i should of sanded it down a little to make the surface even but its to late . this paint i used on my plastics and hasent chipped or scratched off yet . just put like three coats on it and it will last . make evn coats to for it can be really shiny. hope this helps. i think i bopught the gallon of paint fo like $40 and i still have some left over after painting all that stuff.
