04YAMSHEE Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 added FMF Fattys, K&N Clamp On's, Changed the mains to 290's dosen't seem to want to idle too well and plugs are dark my elevation is 800-1000 feet above sea level should i change needle or pilot jets?? Quote
Hilarious Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 How many turns are your air screws @? Try setting them out @ 1.5 turns and see how that works. Try to get it to run for about 20 seconds. If that doesnt help, try 1 turn out on your screws and let it run for about 20 seconds or so to let your engine adjust to the change. If you have stock pilot jets (25's) you may need to go up a size if you wind up turning the screws in to half a turn. You may need to adjust your idle also. Are your carbs in sync? With the filters off, can you look at the slides and do they open and close at the same time? Is your choke crossover tube in place? Quote
wesw Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 stock pilots, 4th clip, 290-310 will have to adjust. are your carbs sync very well. Quote

Wicked98Shee Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 yea what wesw said id set the airscrew up at 1 turn and 4th clip on needle and a 310 main and go from there. Quote
fastbanshee4u Posted March 9, 2006 Report Posted March 9, 2006 You cant pipe and filter it and keep the pilot circuit the same.Your going to need 27.5 or 30 pilots .then fine tune with the air screw. Quote
