400rednEX Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 i couldn't find any thing by searching, has anyone removed these and epoxied in studs or something? i'm talking about the ones to mount the tank cover & front plastics at the back of the tank. Quote
Shee-Male Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I think you can drill them out if your careful and epoxy in some nuts or something? it might be easier to find another gas tank, they're pretty cheap off ebay. Quote
. Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I mean, I guess you could do that? Are yours stripped or something? Theres always a helicoil to the rescue if so Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 i remember holyman posting up pics of the easy fix he used an insert for putting a machine screw into wood Quote
reded Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 If the bolt is still in it just chuck it up to a drill and spin it till the plastic gets hot enough for the insert ot come out. Clean the hole up a little and get some epoxy that is resistant to gas. The fumes coming thru the tank can ruin some types of epoxy. Then, just fill up the hole with epoxy and put the insert back in. Let it sit overnite and it should be good to go. Quote
