99Banshee Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) Hey guys, Im wanting to get a stroker crank now becouse i goto replace the crank anyway. I have a couple question.... How much of a stroke can i go without mod'n my case ..Anouther thing should I also go with a long rod to increese durability and were do you get the piston's needed for a long rod ( already have wesco superlite .040). I have got alot of other things on my quad listed in my sig if any of that info help, also going to get a noss head so what ever domes for the stroker+ long rod... Thanks ~Rich Edited February 26, 2006 by 99Banshee Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 +4mm stroke will work with no case mods, but while you're at it, you might as well increase the rod length by +5mm for better longevity. If you increase the rod length, use the Wiseco 795 series pistons, and forget about the spacer plate. Have a set of domes cut for you Noss head, for the stroker crank. That's it. I just put a +4mm stroker, +5mm longrod crank in my Shee, and I'm pretty sure the above mods, are the way to go. The spacer plate really doesn't do any justice to the stroker crank. Just my .02. PM Fastoys, if you have any other questions. He is the one I talked to, before I did my engine. Quote
99Banshee Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 Sweet thats what im wanting to here.. Anyone wanna buy any wesco superlite .040 pistons lol... and were do I get the wesco 795 serise pistons at i cant find them.. Thanks again ~Rich Quote
sandrappy Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 I'd also get my cylinders ported when you put in the stroker crank. When you change the stroke of the engine you also are changing the port timing. This is the purpose of the spacer plate. It moves the cylinders up 2mm to accomodate the longer stroke of the crank. 99Banshee Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 Damn man.. i already have my cylenders ported... maybe ill haft to get the space plate too.. Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Fastoys has the 795 series pistons, and depending on the port job, you may get by with what you already have. Talk to the guy that ported your cylinders, and he should be able to answer your question about whether or not it will work good with a stroker crank. Quote
99Banshee Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 Alright.. Thanks alot ~Rich Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 the stroker crank is not going to work with your ported cylinders. If I know wicked they ported them pretty good and if you have over a 190 exhaust and 118 trans port then a 4mm will not work. Quote
