i bought a shee a couple of months ago from a guy .he was the 2nd owner. he wasnt sure if it was a 97 or 98.my motor number is 3gg-218949, can u use this to identify the year?? thanks. not stolen!

motor number doesnt mean nothing its the frame number... look behind your a-arm on the left side of the frame.. by the shifter! and give those numbers

there should also be a sticker on the frame tube that the front left engine mount bolts to, it should state the year of production.

that is not true, if you look in the front of a CLYMER book for the banshee you can go by motor or frame numbers.

those numbers are not from a 97 or 98 ,my book only goes up to year 2000 and your numbers are not in it,(book is a couple years old).

looks like it mite be newer than 2000 ,from the #s you give they are higher than 97 , 98, or maybe you gave wrong #s
