peterlocal22 Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 whats up everyone i have an aftermarket skid plate for my frame. the little arms that attach to the frame scratch my frame up pretty bad. any tricks to prevent this? or maybe any after market skid plates that have better set ups? thanks Quote
dawarriorman Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Go find a place that sells used tires, and buy one. Cut up the sidewall into little squares of rubber, and put them in between the frame and the skid plate. Quote
MILO Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 i was thinking more along the lines of a radiator hose. split it in half a cup it over the frame. Quote
peterlocal22 Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 anyone else have this problem? Quote
Mullet Man Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 wrap the tabs with duct tape and cut the excess off (all except what contacts the frame) so it isnt visible you can also get foam tape from a hardware store, its used to seal doorways in houses during the winter Quote
Old Two-Smoke Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 I use gray rtv, it works great I also put some on each corner of the skid plate Quote
cexualcensations Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 I used a thin strip of rubber on mine and it worked great. Quote
