Buying new for me was only about $1000 more than a used banshee with pipes and air filter (who knows if it was ever re-jetted)... of course there were older ones that were not in as good of shape or J-arm frames for about 3000 less, but I wanted something reliable...

 

Bikes don't depreciate as fast here in Cali.

Still, even in Cali you can get a good shee w/ lots of aftermarket for $5k. Even if the motor toasted on the first ride you'd still be ahead of buying new and having to fix it up. Key things wrong w/ a stock shee:

 

Air Filter

Pipes

Suspension

Tires
