My cousin was racing a midget sprint a few years back, and Tony came to race someone else's car for the night. He ran in the heat, and won, by running into almost everyone in front of him. Then in the main, he started off fine, ran about half of the race without changing places while continuing to run into everyone, then locked up the brakes, got out, threw the helmet back into the car and stormed off . (That was the worst run on sentence ever) Anyway, he didn't even help push the car off the track, he ran off like a small child . It was pathetic. Ever since I haven't liked him. The Earnhardt family, however has been my favorite since I was a little kid. Quote

At least with nascar you get to see somebody tear some shit up. the damn car does all the work the toothless hilljack in it just steers continuosly left and presses the gas peddle down ,you could train a damn blind chimp to do that . Are you going to be the one to teach a chimp to swap paint at 180+ mph while drafting off the guy in front of him? Also, keep in mind that there is alot more to nascar than just a bunch of dumb rednecks making left hand turns all day long. There is alot of strategy that goes into it, as far as when to pit, and how much to do to the car when it hits the pits. You can argue all day long if the drivers are athletes or not, but have no doubt, that those guys down on pit road are definetly athletes. There are alot of the pit crews that try to recruit former NFL players, because they know that those guys are going to have the size, strength, speed, and understanding of good teamwork to be able to perform the way that pit crews in nascar need to perform. After all, 99% of the time, nascar races are won and lost in the pits. Quote

MILO Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 i'm not really a fan, but we'll watch a few laps from time to time. it is pretty boring on tv, but until you see one live at the track, you can't really appreciate what it's like. i always ignored it, then got to go to Dover once with some of my family. it's unreal how much different it is at the track, so i can see how lots of people go nuts over it. after Dover, i was hooked for a while, then got bored with it again from watching on tv. for all you bashers out there... everybody likes and dislikes different things. just because somebody isn't into whatever gay shit you are, doesn't mean you should put them down for it.
