quad4me Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I am now putting in a new top end into my 1998...I could not believe it was still on OEM pistons (110psi) and bore was right at 64mm on 3 diff micrometers. My question is this.....It is looking as if the bore wear is very minimal and a .20 will be fine...should I do reeds as well? They look clean and no cracks or anything....so I am not sure what else to look for on reeds. Have no porting and I use a 2into1 Pipe....stock carbs and Single K&N. Thanks Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 by changing your stock reeds, you will gain throttle response. look to see if they are hanging open where they contact the cage. if they do you can change them or flip them. Quote
quad4me Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 they are 100% flush with cage....? I couldn't see anything wrong, but didn't know if they "wear out" since they flex. Quote
