I just put PTR mids, Keihin 30mm carbs, and deltaforce 3 reed cages on my banshee. Other mods include K&N filet with ProFlow intake; I also have reed spacers.

I can only start my bike with starting fluid. It idles okay, maybe a little fast but not much. Then, when I open the throttle the motor races off; it really doesn't return to idle speed very well. The needle clip is in the lowest position, pilot is 52 and main is 170.

I have checked for air leaks and I don't believe I have any. While idling, I sprayed carb cleaner around the intakes and it didn't rev up.

Also, I had noticed that the left side of the motor didn't have hardly any flow through the silencer. When I took the stock pipes off, the left pipe was full of gas. Apparently, I had left the fuel on. I am generally very good about turning the gas off.

Now, I just noticed that there is no exhaust flow through the left side. The gas was not left on. I sat the banshee up on the grab bar and no fuel leaked out of the silencer. The right pipe was warm from the little bit of running at idle, but the left side was not. The left spark plug does work.

I just not real sure why I am having so much trouble getting the jetting right. I am convinced that there is not an air leak. Any suggestions!

if your left pipe was full of fuel, maybe your left cylinder has fuel in it also. remove your left carb ,reeds and spark plug. with your fuel off kick it a bunch of times and see if fuel comes out of the spark plug hole. if it does kick it until it doesn't.then put it back together.

I personally think your main and pilot are to big, and you should raise the clip 2 notches. maybe a 42-45 pilot and 150-158 main. 1500 ft or less and 50 degrees f average.

For one, those carbs are too big for PT mids w/ no porting. I have dynoes to prove it...this will make jetting even harder....But to help you out a little. You jetting should be around a 162 main, 42 pilot, needle 2 nd clip from the blunt end...as for the fuel in the lower end...I'd check your reeds and make sure your lower end isn't full as well, most likely it is....If so, then you have to pull the motor and drain it. Either that or pull the cylinders and suck it out w/ a vacuum....

I think I will just put the stock carbs back on. I guess I will also just pull the cylinder off and check for fuel. I may get back with you regarding jetting of stock carbs when I get to that point. Any suggestions on where to start?
