courville69 Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 I bought it for $1500 bucks its a 97 and the guy was the second owner. He didn't know crap about the bike and only had it for a little while.Well after adding some vforce 3's tors eliminator kit ricky stator adj timing cover and cool head with 18cc domes i had some trouble first trip to the dunes trying to tune it.Long story short- it wouldn't run and i brought it to a guy and he tore into it and here is what he finds..Hot rod crank, rods, and weisco pistons still on stock bore.So i'm thinking i bought a almost freshly rebuilt bike at a good price.Just wanted to see what ya'll thought. Oh yea it was an air leak that was causing it to not run. Quote
Shee-Male Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Still stock bore? How many hours onit then? Good buy no matter wich way you slice it! Nice!! Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 18cc domes? what kinda fuel are you running?? whats your compression?? id be a little worried if you havent done any kind of compression check with those 18cc domes. also, how much is the timing advanced? you need to be running a higher octane fuel to compensate for these mods.. courville69 Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 (edited) Hey Loco i'll be running a race gas now.We put the cool head and advanced the timing while he had it apart. The guy said he doesn't trust his compression gauge so we didn't even do it.I notice a difference when i first kicked it over. The timing is advanced plus 4...The v force and tors were added before my dune trip and the cool head and ricky stator plate was added after.. thegroup Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 antifreeze loves crank bearings 461090[/snapback] so ive heard. im going to dump a little oil in the case once i go to put it back together. good thing about this happening is that it give me time to weld all the cracks in the frame and fix all the other little "bumps" in it. a buddy of mine in New Orleans, LA is going to buy it once he gets home, so im getting it ready for him ow, didnt means to "take" this topic from courville69 Quote
