fmfbanshee98 Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 My banshee just got rebuilt and it seems to be smoking alot. I am running klotz R50 synthetic oil at a 24 to 1 ratio. Am I runnig to much oil in it? Quote
northshore Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 sounds like your ratio is too much oil, most people run between 32:1 up to 40:1 and higher. Your bike should smoke alot after you rebuild, from all the extra oil you put on the rings and bearings, but that doest last long, it should burn up fast. Quote

Also, I'm not super familiar with the Klotz, but you should be able to run much leaner oil/fuel ratios if it is in fact a full synthetic. I know some guys run the Amsoil full syn, at 100:1. Quote
Banchetta Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 He's probably running it richer for the first couple of tanks for breakin..A fresh rebuild w/ 24:1 will smoke a little especially if your just letting it idle or barely on the pipe. If you ride it around and burp it open here and there, it should clear up, if not, then you might have another problem...what color is the smoke? What does it smell like? Antifreeze? Tranny fluid? or just two-stroke smoke? Quote
fmfbanshee98 Posted January 3, 2006 Author Report Posted January 3, 2006 It is like a blueish color and just smells like the klotz. Quote
23champ Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 Your fine then.. the next tank of fuel you run trough it you should mix a little leaner. I'm not sure about klotz but I'm thinkin they recomend 50:1. Check with your supplier....or someone on here might know. Quote
sheefreak Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 I run Klotz Supertechniplate at 40:1 no problem! Quote
