icecold_shee Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 (edited) I am wanting to switch to a 2 into 1 intake when i get my mx port, and i found another intake style besides the trinity stage IV, the trinity looks much nicer, but i thought id check around before i bought one. my question is which one do you Mthink would be better. I have t5s, v-force, 20cc domes, heres a pic of the other intake Edited December 28, 2005 by icecold_shee Quote
Wallrat Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 That intake pictured is a Graydon. They're out of business now so you won't see many of those anymore. They're actually a better design performance-wise. The longer intake chamber helps add some mixture time as well as lessen the blow to your upper rpm's (according to my builder anyway). I'd actually heard that they were port tuned...now to which rpm I have no idea. I'm running a Graydon style intake that I made myself for my 2:1. I'm happy with it. I try to stay away from Trinity whenever possible. Don't forget you'll also need a throttle cable for a blaster. Quote
Rooster Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 I'm running the Trinity and like just fine. I'm wondering about the comment "I try to stay away from Trinity whenever possible". What's up with that? I don't normally buy from them these days but I do have a connection that's close to them. Rooster Quote
fast87 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 i run the graydon setup with a 35mm PWK and love it, tons up top and lots down low...can't go wrong with this setup IMO...easy jetting, etc... i can't complain, i say get the graydon over the trinity, the longer intake runners must help in some way...i can revv mine out till she blew up if i felt like it...normally i don't feel like doin such a stupid thing fortunately..lol....buy the graydon you wont be disappointed, as long as it's got at least a 33mm carb stuck to it you'll have plenty of top end ~Mark~ Quote

fast87 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 this is the first that i've heard about graydon being out of business...that sucks i have the intake and nerf bars and love em both, great products IMO..couldent find a website either they must have deleted it.. ~Mark~ Quote
Gargamel Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 The graydon is better unless you need to run a airbox, then and only then is the trinity one better because it will work with the stock airbox. But every blue moon you'll see a graydon alum. airbox that works with their 2 in 1 but I have seen them go for $200 ebay. Quote
