joeyp Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Im new here and i just bought an 87 banshee. It is in pieces. one of the pistons lost a ring land and it scratched up one of the the jugs. The pistons have .50 on the tops, i assume that mean half a millimeter overbore. how much more can you bore it out safely? Quote
iceman Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 you can bore it to .100 but it wont be very reliable. i dont think .50 is even very reliable. Quote
dawarriorman Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 2 mm I know for sure. I think you can find pistons for 2.5 mm too. So unless they've got some deep scratches in them, you'll be alright. Quote
eehsnab2 Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Dont bore if you are looking for more power. The old rule of "there's no replacement for displacement" doesnt apply as much on banshee as on other types of motors. You are better off only boring what you need to and spend money on other mods if power is what you are after.... Quote
