fabricated
I milled .035 off the head, did some dune porting, installed a 4 degree timing key, lightened the flywheel, and installed a set of 1/2'' reed spacers. I jeted it for glamis with 30 pilots, 4th clip down on dynojet needles, and a set of 340 mains. I blew the motor with this jetting but my plugs read rich all weekend. I believe the problem was that I was running pump gas in it and it detonated.
FIRST BANSHEE
did you burn holes in the top of the pistons, that's most common with detination. a lean seizure is usually at the front of the piston at the exhaust. you should always jet the main first, a lean main can be hidden by a fat needle or pilot. Wallrat
.035 is quite a bit. Most guys only go .030 MAX without running into squish problems. I'd measure your squish and your compression. Its possible you might have to have the head machined to give yourself more squish clearance. Banchetta
I had a friend that milled .025 off his head and deto the motor 3 times. I kept telling him it was from the head, but he just wouldn't listen.....I know a lot of other people have done .030 w/ no problems. But what can I say......Good luck
