CadillacBanshee Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Hey guys, I just found out that my head is milled. I dont know how much. My friend that noticed it was adjusting my timing and said i should be running much higer octane with that mill, is that true? Is there a way i could find out how much it is milled without taking it apart? What about the octane thing? Let me know what you guys think. thanks Quote
itsaripper Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 The only way you can come close to knowing what the head was milled, is No 1 to pull the head. No 2 to put a piece of sodder in the spark plug hole and crank the motor over slow. That will squish the sodder and then you could conpare it with a known stock cylinder. But really all you need to know is what your compression is. So go buy a compression gauge and get the compression. Add race gas as needed. Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Adjusting your timing? Check your compression if you're under 160psi then you're fine with premium. Quote
