MG01SHEE Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, but I need some help. I have a bone stock 01 shee and am ready to start modding. I am confused on which pipes to get. I ride in all types of terrains, trails, sand etc. Need a good all around pipe that will work with future motor work... I am stuck between T-5's or 6's and the trinity pipes. Anyone run the Vito's pipes? Let me know what you guys think. I am new here so take it easy on me.... Quote
Wallrat Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 No worries man, you prolly won't get flamed. You included all the pertinent information. I would vote for T-5's. They're a quality pipe that works well for alot of different terrains and they respond better to porting than the T-6's. Quote
MG01SHEE Posted November 24, 2005 Author Report Posted November 24, 2005 What about fmf sst's. They are priced right and I think alba sells a kit that has the pipes, jets, k&n, and boost bottle for a lot cheaper than the toomeys... Quote
MG01SHEE Posted November 24, 2005 Author Report Posted November 24, 2005 Who has the best price on the toomey's? I'm thinkin about buyin' just the pipes and buying my own k&n filters in stead of their stuff... Quote
RNBRAD Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 I would check out the Trinity pipes. They are probably close performers with top end going to the Trinity's. Trinity's quality is second to none, though I feel the Toomey's quality is better than most other steel pipes. I think you can also get them cheaper than the Toomey's. PM rocketpig on here and he can get you a better than list price on them. Quote
MG01SHEE Posted November 24, 2005 Author Report Posted November 24, 2005 Thanks for your help guys. I just ordered a set of T-5's. I'm sure they will do the job. I'll be checking back as soon as I bolt these bitches on.... Quote

I ran a 13 tooth front sprocket with my setup, helped get those RPM's up a little quicker in the trails Quote
Dmcbanshee Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 Like hittintrees srh and Bigboy said good choice Quote
beaubanshee66 Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 tee mother fuckin five 441113[/snapback] thats the pipes I'm going to get, after I get an extended swingarm Quote
MG01SHEE Posted November 25, 2005 Author Report Posted November 25, 2005 Do any of you guys use the 2:1 air filter they send with the pipes. Was having trouble understanding what it is. I ordered the filter adapter and a k&n also. Which should I use? Quote
hittintrees srh Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 use the K&N for sure. Also be sure to use an outerware is you plan on slingin some sand. Quote
Wallrat Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 I ran the foam 2:1 for about a year. K&N's don't really filter all that great IMO so I prefer a foamy if I can. It works good, not quite as good airflow as the k&n but a decent filter. Quote
ogre03 Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 I've got the toomey 2 into 1 on my bike. It seems to work pretty well. I use a filter skin on it most of the time, But it is pretty well up and out of the way. You will deffinatly need a pre filter of some sort though if you ride in dry dusty conditions. I like the ease of maintinance of the foam filter too. Quote
