Motoman991 Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 Would heated hand grips work on a banshee? the kind you see on ebay, it says they work for snowmobiles too. would it be possible to unplug the headlights and wire the grips into the headlight switch? i am just curious cuz in the winter my hands always freeze Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 hmm, im not electrical wizard but i think the grips would have to have the same kinda pull from the motor that the lights do. justintoxicated and wallrat both have a pretty good knowledge of the banshee electrical system as they both have wired up some aftermarket lighting i do believe. if theydonr respond here send them a pm. beaubanshee66 Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 that would be nice to have during the winter....heated handgrips now on my to do list. Quote
BansheeBillyBob Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 dunno if it would work how many watts them things draw? prolly alot (for a banshee) cause of the heating element......... Quote
Joshtruction Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 perhaps run a few 9 volt battery's to power them with a switch mounted on your controls? Just change the batterys out before a ride so they don't die halfway and you get cold. It's a thaught, but I am far from an electrical guy. If anyone can find a way to set up a set of these and still use the lights let me know!!! I do a lot of night time snow riding in the streets. Quote
Motoman991 Posted November 26, 2005 Author Report Posted November 26, 2005 i think it said 20 watts each. i cant be more than 5 watts off Quote
Wallrat Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 I haven't looked at the heaters you specifically are talking about but my guess would be that they won't run on an AC electrical system which is what the shee has. To convert to DC you'll need to float the ground on your stator (easily done) and then install a new regulator/rectifier to replace the voltage regulator (about $30). After that its just a matter of installing a small battery and you're good to go. I would suggest getting the RS 200w stator tho since its way easier to float the ground on (or you can order it this way) and then you'd have no issues running your lights and heaters. As an added bonus, you could turn on the heaters before you even start the bike. Quote
Gargamel Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 heres a set that only uses 36 watt total and only cost $30 Quote
