Dinner Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 (edited) Hey everyone...I have an 87 Banshee, and for a couple of weeks i have been taking that carbs apart because...the left side loads up so much (I Think) that as it is idling it will start to mis-fire, once it is warmed up and you give it gas, it stops firing and just shoots the gas/oil out the exhaust...and its not electrical cause i have switched the cables and nothing changed...when i first start it up it runs like the right, but then gets worse and worse....so my question is..is my left side jetting off so bad that its loading up so much it fouls the plugs as its running?...And what should my jetting be at (Roughly)? Mods: Boyesen Reeds K&N Air Filter(Lid Removed) DG Pipes Elevation-around 900 ft Main right now-270 Temperature around -5, -10 Not sure what clip the needle is on, or what size the pilot jet is Be working on it hopefully tomorrow afternoon Thanks for all help! Dinner Posted November 24, 2005 Author Report Posted November 24, 2005 Thanks TurbochargedOne ...going to work on it tomorrow night and adjust the slides check everything...need to get this thing running good for the winter Quote
wesw Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 you might try a 27.5 pilot needle 4th clip 310 mains with the cold you could bet for 310-340 have to do some plug chops Quote
TurbochargedOne Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 For the winter, I run 370 mains. FMF Fattys, K&N, lid off. Needle stays in 3rd clip position. If I put the lid on, it's stumbles at WOT with the 370s (rich). With the lid off it runs great, so I stuck with 370s. You can also do the choke trick. Warm the engine up and pull the choke out half way (half choke position). If it runs better at WOT with the choke out, you're lean. Quote
