ibis Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I just got a 7mm stroker cheeta cub steup from trinity with thier single 38mm carb with a pod filter. I'm running the sheer in frame pipes. The carb is set up with eek-j needle, 251main jett, and 48 pilot. The bike runs good ,but has no low end. Quote
seb4lo Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 IMO you need at least +5 ignition timing ... but what is you riding style ? Drag , trail , cross ? Compression ? ..... Quote
rocketboy Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 your running a 2-1 carb on a cheetah 7mm i doubt that very many people have similar setups, that are gonna be helpful to you on jetting that setup Quote

ibis Posted November 21, 2005 Author Report Posted November 21, 2005 The bike will be used for drag's. The timming is still stock, as for compression I'ts got 22cc domes. What I mean by no lo end is that I can't even get a first gear launch it bogs down then revs up. Also another problem that I have is that when i'm at high rpm's it woun't let me shift to a higher gear. Trinity when't threw the tranny, and replaced the gears that were bad. I had them install a lock out clutch could this be the problem. Quote

Clutch was slipping. It is running on U2. No alchy! 108 with a slipping clutch! Racers Edge ATV Sales & Service (520) 631-0797 I'm not selling nothing here...and am not a customer of John's yet! I just bought a banshee and still trying to absorb that purchase itself. Hope this helps you though! Edited November 22, 2005 by azbanshee310 Quote
Malott 1 Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 7 mill to drag with you need to get rid of the single carb set up. Bogging on the bottom end and reving out on top sounds like the pilot is to small. The lock out is something you need for a drag bike. I run one on my 350 but once you go 4 mill and above you definitly need one if you are drag racing. Unless you like buying alot of clutches. The lockout wont stop you from shifting though. If the bike is just going to be used for drag racing you should put a override in it and all your shifting problems will go away. It will give you several bike lengths advantage also. Quote
Wallrat Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 I dunno if you're in SoCal but Wicked ATV in Garden Grove has a dyno and they'll tune your bike on it for $150. Might be worth it. But your issue might also be from trying to run a single 38mm on that setup in which case you'll never get it jetted right. But don't expect much low end. I've ridden on Shearer in-frames before and it frustrated the hell out of me - absolutely no power until the powerband. Quote
