outlawchico151 Posted November 17, 2005 Author Report Posted November 17, 2005 yea i do have reeds...i bought the banshee without filters "custom made dustcovers" instead of filters....and who would do the porting for me and what do i ask for when i want to have it done? Quote
bigboybanshee Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 It all depends on what kind of port you want...drag / trail / dune, etc. It's hard to give a HP estimate because each engine builder is different. Best thing to do is search on here for port work/porting or engine builders and make a few phone calls. I would really recommend you call the engine builders to discuss your options opposed to sending them emails, etc. Quote
ellison445 Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 If your bike isnt already ported, 38mm is way to much carb for that motor. I would call andy at GRR, Jeff at fast, Eric at forward Motion or Jim at Passion. It all depends on your ridding style Porting will give you more bang for your buck! i got carbs and pipe(38mm and t5's) what other mod should i do that would make me feel alot more power to spendin around 500 bucks or something around there 438087[/snapback] Quote
23champ Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Porting will give you more of a performance gain than anything else out there! Quote
Gargamel Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 porting then after that some shocks so you can handle flying down the trail at worp speed Quote

23champ Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 Talk to an engine builder, he can fill you in on everything you need to know. Depending on what style of ridding your doing also helps choose the right size carbs. If your more into trails, you would want to go with like a 33mm, for ant type of racing I would say 34's or bigger. Quote

I got basically a "clean up" with no real hogging done and it made a huge difference. Mostly cleaned up the transfers and opened up the windows in the pistons. As soon as the other bike is done, this one is getting sent off to someone for some serious "real" porting. Quote
8buck Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 Port and polish!!!!!!!!!!! I HIGHLY recommend K&T Performance http://www.ktperformance.com/home.asp Quote
