Hey, when i came too change my top a-arm bushings last week the top bolt had seized in the collar (rod), i had too cut the bolt off too remove the arm, i can't find a replacement bolt anywhere, today i got a metre length of 10mm high tensile threaded bar will this be ok to make a replacement bolt?, just thought i'd check before rebuilding it.

Also how do u guys clean your outerwears for your air filters, can you put them in the washing machine?

Thanks

I use K&N cleaner on the outerwears and rub them with my fingers untill they are unplugged. Sometimes I have to use my fingernail to really remvoe lodged crap.

I had to cut m A-arms bolts out also....Searching for an aftermarket graded one, not have not come up with anything yet...

I ordered some factory ones and just used those. if I was you I would order a stock yamaha bolt.

Try bikebandit.com for factory upper a-arm bolts. They are the best around and you don't have to go to the stealership. Make sure you grease the new ones really good. Better to have to much grease and not enough. Hopefully you won't have to do them again but it will make life easier to take apart. Luckily on my 98 the came out alright. Took awhile but finally came apart.

Yea right that will just spin the entire sleeve around in the bushing. We could not even press mine out with a big ass vice, even tried smacking them with a hammer they would not budge...
