biggun6ss Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 My front brakes went out on me. Looked at my res and it was getting really low. I noticed that the tubing behind the radiator was leaking. So I tightened it up but it was already pretty tight. Looked a little closer and the fluid isnt coming out of the threads. I took it off to check the flared end and it looked ok. Noticed that the tubing has some gray silicon stuff on it and part of it had be rubbed away. Could this be what is making it leak or is it something else? Quote
Justintoxicated Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 I dunno man but sounds like you may as well upgrade them Quote
sandman121383 Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 rebleed them. or do they still feel good? maybe the pads are shot? maybe the caliper needs a rebuild. u can get a new piston and a whole kit to fix them if they are bad. how old are they and how much use do they get? i did a search on here and then put up a post a little while back concerning breaks and got nowhere. i wanted to upgrade my caliper as well as lines and rotors. neone have ne ideas? hittintrees srh Posted October 31, 2005 Report Posted October 31, 2005 Sounds like you mite need some new brake lines. get some braded stainless hoses-then go from there Quote
biggun6ss Posted October 31, 2005 Author Report Posted October 31, 2005 The pads are good. It's only an 05 so it isn't old. It is just leaking brake fluid between the little connection and the tubing itself right behind the radiator. Either the gray silicon stuff that rubed off is causing this or the flare at the end of the tubing is ruffed up and letting it come through. Quote
