i12gofast Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 Because of the inertia of the flywheel when its travelling at that speed does not have enough "rotating mass" to keep the engine running without the proper amount of fuel. Mach's formula states v=1/2r^2(3x.097)-1/2d^2xm where v = velocity, m=mass of the fly wheel and m = your friends suzuki is a piece of crap and he should have sell it and buy a Banshee, and d = this whole reply was bullsh*t from the get-go...haha! Tell him to ghost ride it off a cliff, that'll fix it! Quote
23champ Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 I'd prolly start with checking the fuel line over...make sure it is not kinked anywhere. Then I'd prolly check the carb over, by taking it apart and cleaning it. You might want to get ahold of FASTOYS on here. He has experience with thumpers. Quote
blueshee03 Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 i agree with champ,i'd check the fuel supply system .sounds like its using more fuel than it has supplied. Quote
JKJK Posted October 29, 2005 Report Posted October 29, 2005 It sounds like the pilot jet is too small.there is a idle mixture screw in the front bottom of the carb bowl area.It works backwards compaired to the banshee set up.Turning it out will richen the idle circuit, just don't go past 3 1/2 turns. After doing what Champ said. I'd start there then up the piolet jet if needed. Quote
suzuki0702 Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 www.z400central.com sounds like hes running a little small on the main.. see what the guys over there have to say. the pilot only runs 0 to 1/4 throttle...so post in there..cool site nice bikes...still slower than doggg doodoo Quote
