Dinner Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Hey, i just called to see what my shee is bored to, and the he said its at 75.50, so how many cc would that be?..thanks for all help Quote
Ducman Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 To calculate volume of a cylinder you use 2 ( Pi )( r^2)(d) Assuming stock stroke, 54mm = 5.4cm and r= (bore/2) = 37.75mm = 3.775cm so 2(3.14)(3.775^2)(5.4) = 483.5 cm^3 that is 483.5 cubic centemeters = one fat hog of a cylinder! Quote
Dinner Posted October 26, 2005 Author Report Posted October 26, 2005 Thanks Ducman for the calculation Quote
Dinner Posted October 26, 2005 Author Report Posted October 26, 2005 Just had a thought..or could he of ment it was bored out to 75 thou, does that make a difference? ..im no good at cc calculation Quote
Ducman Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I forgot to mention the 2 in my previous equation is because there are 2 cylinders. Well if you dont have some sort of aftermarket cylinders there not going to be bored to 75.5mm. A typical big bore sleeve kit will take the stock cylinders to 68mm which is 392cc. If they are bored 75 thousanths over (.0755) I guess this would be fore a .060 over piston which would be a 65.5mm piston. So the cc for a 65.5mm piston would be 364cc Quote
blueshee03 Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 that 364cc sounds more realistic to me.i'm running thick walled sleeves and they can be bored to 72mm maybe 73mm .they are .40 over or 65mm now. Quote
eehsnab2 Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Here's the formula... bore x bore x stroke x .0007854 x 2 = displacment for a banshee Quote
Dinner Posted October 27, 2005 Author Report Posted October 27, 2005 Oh ok, thanks guys ...didnt think it made sense before, but that was on my part...but thanks for the calculation Quote
