rocketboy Posted October 21, 2005 Report Posted October 21, 2005 Man I say trash the junk-ass stock reeds and get some v-force and be done with it. 427956[/snapback] well i double agree Quote
Guest nightmare Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 I would buy the vforce if I had 220 to blow on some reeds. Just trying to get a little edge for not much money. Quote
itsaripper Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Here are some bigger pictures of porting the reed cages. The one with the dark center is a stock reed cage, the other one is the way I ported the ones currently on my Banshee. The ported reeds have to use the TDR hyper tension reeds. Quote
dawarriorman Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Heres my other thought on porting stock cages. The tip of the reed is what opens, the base of the reed isn't going to move that much. Removing all that material from the base of the reed isn't going to really open it up for much more flow at all. It might look impressive, but I doubt its doing much at all. Quote
itsaripper Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Go ahead and po po porting reed cages. All I know is what I have, by the seat-of-the-pants dyno, exsperianced. It didn't cost me $220 dollars, I improved off idle responce, mid and top end were improved too. That was with stock carbs. When I put on a set of tapper bored stock carbs. (Bored to 27.5) Mid to top end was like when I put on a the after market pipes. Yes this could all be had with a set of V-force reeds. But I like to do thing myself and don't nessasary like to just go with crowd. Quote
