lokar Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Okay, just got my bike running again after a full rebuild. I used a hot rods stroker kit, weisco pistons, ebc clutch, cool head, rad valves, etc. Anyway, now that everything is back together and running there is a pretty strong vibration that comes through the pegs and the handle bars. Is this the nature of the stroker engine, or is there something wrong? The bike feels incredible, very responsive and crisp. I am still breaking it in, so I havent beat on it yet. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. thanks kevin Quote
JKJK Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Did you soke the clutch fibers in tranny oil before installing?I had a similiar problem that went away after i tipped the bike on its side(for a couple minutes) to saturate the clutch assembly with oil.It shook so bad prior to that,i thought the crank went south. Rear mount has one the right side. They go in one way it's stamp up on it. Check bottom toretion bars. Just a check list. Good luck Quote
lokar Posted October 18, 2005 Author Report Posted October 18, 2005 I didnt soak the clutches, but I did wet them. I know when I put the engine in I put both dampers on one end. I remember them being opposed like you describe, but thought someone messed up. (the bike was apart before I owned it) I will switch that out first thing and see if helps. Thanks a bunch. Quote
lonestar Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 Your clutch plates can be your problem. You should let them soak like over night. Hope that the plates aren't burnt. Check that also. You mite gate-a-way ez. Quote
lokar Posted October 18, 2005 Author Report Posted October 18, 2005 So now that its all together, whats the best way to soak them? Lay on its side? Quote
lokar Posted October 18, 2005 Author Report Posted October 18, 2005 Oh yea, the vibration is present even when I am in nuetral just reving it a little. Quote

You should pull the cover off and see if the plates are burnt thougt.I know it sucks Quote
lonestar Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 (edited) If this don't work . Hate to say it, it could be your crank. I'd still check everything that we mention first. Edited October 18, 2005 by lonestar Quote
