Jonesy Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Ok I have a used 2000 that runs for about 20 min than dies i have replaced the coil and checked the resistance on the stator everything looks brand new. the timing was at about 4 degrees advanced so i took it down to 0. It runs fine till she warms up than dies for about 10 min before i can fire it back up for a nother 15 min or so before it dies again. Any ideas would be great thanks. Quote
BigRed350x Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Is your gas on? Getting good flow from the tank? Sounds like maybe your gas line is plugged or not flowing enough to keep your bowls full. Sometimes when I would take off with the gas shut off I could get about a half mile down the road after it was warmed up before it would run out. Check your compression after you get it warmed up. Jonesy Posted September 29, 2005 Author Report Posted September 29, 2005 the fuel is on when im running it. Its loosing spark when it dies after a few min i get spark back and it runs again. Im thinking bad stator but the one thats on it looks like a new after market stator Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 It does sound like some kind of electrical problem. Heat related also... since as it heats up, it breaks down and you lose spark(guess?). Once it sits, cools down your good again. I would still tend to think coil, or stator, but I'll keep thinking.
