Help!

I have an 89 Banshee that has run great for the past three years. It has had the TORS removed. After it sat for awhile I started it up but I could not throttle up and it bogged down. It had fresh fuel in it. I took the carbs apart, cleaned them and still no go. I have checked the wiring, the stator etc. It now has 340 jets and starts and idles on the first kick. It bogges at just every position. One thing was strange though, while it was running I turned off the fuel and after about 15 seconds it ran GREAT till the fuel ran out. There isn't any fuel coming out of the overflow so I believe the floats are OK. Any ideas on what to check next?

Have you checked your spark and tried different plugs?

It gets a spark and starts on the first try. I put new plugs in and got the same result. I just don't understand why all of the sudden it is running like crap!

buddy's of mine did the same thing, cut the gas off like you did wait about 10sec and then turn it back on while it is running.

has it got a cool head on it if so one of your oring may have a pin hole in it causing it to burn a little water which will cause a bogg as well.

I don't have a cool head but last night I put my neighbors 28mm flat slide carbs on and it ran fine. My carbs are stock with 340 mains, that might be too much fuel and it may be way too rich. I'm going to try to go smaller on my mains and check my slide.

Sounds like a good idea. Dont know what your mods are, 340's may be a little on the fat side for ya.
