01bansheefox Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 Just curious on how you adv your timing, whats it based on? Quote
rocketboy Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 4-5 degress advancment for a mild to dune/recreational drag ported banshees and often guys will go up to a 7 +degree on more heavily modifed setups such as cheetah cubs and or bigbores ,strokers. the stock ignition timing is setup to spike at a lower rpm than what the motor is now capable of with higher port timing numbers and performance mods,so basicaly stock ignition timing is designed for a stock banshee with 25lb french horn pipes Quote
Brian060 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 would some fattys allow me to go +4 safely? Quote

badassbanshee479 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 I ran +5 with my t5's with no problem, so you should be fine at +4 Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Were you running +5 with the T5's without porting. I haven't had any port work done... YET. But I've got a ricky stator timing plate that should be here by Thursday. Trying to figure out if I will be making a difference advancing the timing now. Even if not, I can always set at 0 degrees until I get the porting done. Quote

badassbanshee479 Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 yeah +5 was with stock cylinders, no porting. my old setup was t5's noss head with 19cc domes ported stock cages with tdr reeds, +5 on the timing, stock carbs with the dyno jet jet kit, and a 2 into 1 air filter Quote
