wooten Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 hey i was wondering what size of jets you guys would recommend, i am getting the head ported, already have exhaust and filter just need your alls opinion Quote
Hilarious Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 What exactically do you mean by getting your head ported? I was under the impression that your cylinders are where the porting takes place. Do you mean shaving your head to increase compression? I don't believe you would need to change jetting for an increase in compression but, you would need to change jetting for port work due to the increase of fuel mixture in and exhaust out of the combustion chamber. 2003LimitedBanshee Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 What kind of pipes are you running? What is your elevation, air temp? When you say you've done a filter, have you totally removed the airbox, still have the box w/no lid, full lid no snorkel, or totally stock box w/lid and snorkel? All of these are factors that will affect getting the jetting spot on. Once we know this we can give you a better idea. Quote
wooten Posted September 23, 2005 Author Report Posted September 23, 2005 running dg exhaust and still have the stock air box just a k&n filter Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 this a 2 stroke or 4 stroke?? head porting is for 4 strokes..you mean you had the head milled for more compression? what exactly did u do?? Quote
wooten Posted September 28, 2005 Author Report Posted September 28, 2005 the head is being milled and the boost ports and exhaust are being ported i had them mixed up Quote
Banchetta Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 I would go up a few sizes on the mains to start w/ and check your plugs after a wot run in 6th gear. You might even want to go up a size on the pilots. See how it starts after the porting. If it seems to start hard then go up a size. Quote
