[email protected] Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 everytime power band hits the bike goes no ware too fast . seems shitty to me , it was a new clutch 3 rides ago but i do alot and i mean ALOT of drag racing/ street poping clutch / spin tires .................... Quote
MonkeyBoy Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Those are horrible pictures. Look at the steels for burn marks or discoloration. If there is none, reinstall and readjust the clutch. Quote
[email protected] Posted September 20, 2005 Author Report Posted September 20, 2005 here i got up again to fire the grill up so i took some more pics , seems like they have NO material on them left . Quote
98bonerSTOCKshee Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 (edited) here are my plate that I took out over the weekend. the one on the left are burnt while the ones on the right appear to be good. The left side was closest to the motor they burnt the worst. The friction plates looked alright but 1 or 2 near the motor side. I just got done rebuilding the motor, the cable was worn not allowing me to get it adjusted right, I think that's why it burnt.. hope this helps... ps those new pics you have it does look like the friction plates are smooth as a babies ass.. I say change them.. Edited September 20, 2005 by 98bonerSTOCKshee Quote

tOj Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 If it was a brand new clutch 3 rides ago, maybe you should have tried to 'break it in' a little bit or something, not go crazy and just drop it all the time. Like you said all you were doing is burnouts and drag racing and dropping the clutch, that's alot of wear on a brand new clutch. Maybe you should have done an hour or so of going slow, going thru the gears, breaking everything in. Did you soak the clutch plates in oil over night before you installed them? Not trying to start a pissing match you asked for our 2 cents. Also what type of oil were you running the crankcase? and how much. Were all the springs and center adjuster all down to spec? Quote
Justintoxicated Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Did you install the Clutch Plates in the correct order? I mean they are ballanced you know... Quote

[email protected] Posted September 22, 2005 Author Report Posted September 22, 2005 installed clutch best to my knowledge and it works just fine now check out the post i jsut started " drag banshee complete " Quote
tOj Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I think by balanced he means, the metals inbetween the fibers, the round part sticking out-they have to be evenly distributed in a circular fashion. Quote
FOXBANSHEE30 Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 That still doesent make sense. I need a lil more detail b/c i have a cluth on the way. Thanks. MEADOWS. <<<CWB>>> Quote
hamuel Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 im just going to note that that isn't completly true to all clutchs. I installed a barnettee clutch this last year and none of the steels where different in anyway. balanced or need to be installed in any real order. Only clutchs that need to steels offset are the oem ones, i do beleave. Quote
