La 450 smoka Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 I just put together my banshee and one of the cylinders smokes bad under full throttle.Any ideas why? Quote
itsaripper Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 It is the right side that smokes. Your pulling trans oil in through the crank seal. Also you could still be burning the old oil and carbon out of the smoking pipe. Quote

La 450 smoka Posted September 5, 2005 Author Report Posted September 5, 2005 Hey guys,I found out it was ma crank seal.Do I really have to split the cases,or can I use some sealant or something? Quote
2twin350s Posted September 5, 2005 Report Posted September 5, 2005 gotta split them. the crank seal has a groove that fits in the case and clamps it down. you will get the old one out, but never get the new one in. 60 bucks for seals and gaskets and about 6-10 hours work and you will be good to go. dont forget to get yamabond sealer for the case halves.
