gd97 Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Hey guys just a quick question on a compression check. Do you hold the throttle open when kicking? And how many kicks do I do. I have a pro design cool head with 18cc domes and .020" over weisco pistons, what might I expect it to be? I am also at sea level or just a couple hundred feet above. Thanks for your help. Quote
BansheeBoy17 Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Leave everything as it is, just kick it as many times til the compression guage doesnt go up anymore and thats your compression. Do it 2-3 times on each cylinder to be 100% sure though. As for the head and pistons I'm not sure... maybe around 135-150? Quote
Dunsmoor86 Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Nope nope nope you should be looking close to 185-197psi hope you are running race gas. Quote
BansheeBoy17 Posted August 15, 2005 Report Posted August 15, 2005 Shows how much I know , I'll stick with my .030 shaved stock head Quote
gd97 Posted August 16, 2005 Author Report Posted August 16, 2005 Thanks for the info guys. And yes I am running race gas. Quote
gd97 Posted August 16, 2005 Author Report Posted August 16, 2005 I Didn't have time to check it more than once today but the left cylinder was at about 185 and the right was about 190. How much difference between the two is too much? Thanks again for all your help. Quote
