Thanks for the reply. I checked it and they were reversed but it still ran but I have a miss on the left cylinder so I was just hopeing it would be that simple. Seems I have had nothing but problems since I put on my Rickey Stator adjustable timing plate and advanced the timing 4 deg. But I can't seem to find anything wrong. I have 200 psi. in each cylinder and spark at each. Maybe time to look into the carbs, which I removed to put on a new clutch cable.Left side is running a little rich.

Does anybody know if it matters if the black and red wires on my 97 shee coil are reversed? And if it does, can you please tell me which one goes where and what problems it could causeif they are reveresed.

I Didn't have time to check it more than once today but the left cylinder was at about 185 and the right was about 190. How much difference between the two is too much? Thanks again for all your help.

Thanks for the info guys. And yes I am running race gas.

Hey guys just a quick question on a compression check. Do you hold the throttle open when kicking? And how many kicks do I do. I have a pro design cool head with 18cc domes and .020" over weisco pistons, what might I expect it to be? I am also at sea level or just a couple hundred feet above. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the info guys I appreciate it.

I just looked at what they gave me at the shop for my tranny and it is yamalube 10w 30 four stroke oil. Is this ok or do I need to step up to one of the others that is 75w, 80w, or 90w?

Hey guys just got my clutch in from Jeff at F.A.S.T. and it is the weekend so I don't want to call and bother him. How long do you soak the fibers before install and what tranny oil are you guys using?
-
Yea it had very little, The good thing was it didn't take it long to get hot and I let it sit and cool down and did not keep riding it so hopefully everything is ok.

Tore my shee down today to replace the clutch and found out I had no coolant. I had checked it a week before and it was fine. Could it have been running hot and causing my problem? I can't seem to find any places where it looks like it was leaking but when I get the clutch done I will fill it back up and try to find it and hope there is no damage. At least I didn't have any in the tranny oil when I drained it.

That is the first thing that I was going to try when I get a chance. That is why I am baffled because I thought it would help on the bottom.

I just installed a Ricky Stator adjustable timing plate on my 97 shee and set it at + 4 deg. We went on a ride today and it ran like crap. That is the only thing that I did to the motor. It seems to start fine when cold but after riding for a few minutes it won't idle or run unless it is wide open. It has always started on the first kick hot or cold before. I also checked the pick up and it is set at .010" . It also would bog pretty bad when I would rev it to keep it running. When it would die on me if I waited a few minutes it would start right up and would run good for a few then start acting up again. The rest of the motor mods is Cool head with 18 cc domes,Weisco pistons, T-5 pipes, uni air filter,Jetted . I run it on 110 octane race gas with yamalube 2-r mixed at 40:1.This thing has always ran great until this mod. Could the High compression with the advance be too much?

Thanks alot for your help. I will definately be getting a hold of you in a month or so to get some. I really think I would benefit from some shocks to smooth everything out.
-
I don't plan on changing a- arms anytime soon unless I have to. We usually blast around the trails for close to an hour or less and play on a hill or a jump for a while taking turns, so it does get a break in between for a few minutes. What all can you adjust on the rec's and can you add ressy's later and how much for the add on if so? Mostly I have heard said that shocks are preload, comp., and rebound adjustable is that all needed on front shocks for my purpose or is that an overkill for my style. I really want to smooth it out and make it handle real nice but I would like to keep it close to $500 - $700 range.
-
maybe I will just stick with them cause I would still have to run some race gas anyway.
-
Thanks for all the reply's I guess I am safe.

The guy I bought it off of has me using yamalube 2r and mixing it at 40:1 is that safe?

Hey guys, I am thinking about getting a new set of front shocks and I was wondering what ones to get. I don't want to spend more than I need to and get something that is just overkill for how I ride. I ride alot of pretty fast and aggressive trails and hit the tracks and do some jumping and playing.I weigh about 250 # and I am 6' 2".
-
Just wondering what ratio you guys are using to mix your gas and oil?
-
Hey guys I was wondering how much power I would lose by removing my 18 cc domes and going to a 20 or 21 cc dome in my cool head? I also have weisco pistons which I think raise the compression also.
-
Thats what I am hoping I really like this bike and plan on keeping her around for awhile. I plan on getting a port job pretty soon when we slow down on riding a little bit.She needs some TLC but she screams now, can't immagine what it will be like with the whole package.Hey, thanks for all the help I really appreciate it.
