With after market pipes do you have to change your jetting? I always thought that an aftermarket pipes allowed your engine to flow exhaust better. Couldn't you still run stock jetting with after market pipes? I know if you change anything on the intake you have to change jetting and getting aftermarket pipes compliment the intake changes. Just wondering why when everyone changes pipes they change their jetting.

you answered your own question. when you change air flow you have to change your jetting to balance out the fuel to air ratio and have your quad runing right.

Does it have to do with the amount of back-pressure is on the engine? Like a larger pipe would have less back-pressure allowing more air in and out of the engine. Where as a smaller pipe would have more back-pressure allowing less air in and out of the engine.

Just trying to get a little understanding of how these engines work.
