kermithills Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 can someone explain how to remove my airbox?what screws and where? Quote
Holyman Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 I believe there are screws on the side and there are two prongs on the side near the front that clip into the airbox. After all that, it still takes a bit of wiggling and twisting. Quote
Toomey Banshee Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 Actually there are 2 bolts on the top at the rear of the air box. As Holyman said, after that you gotta wiggle that sucka out. Theres 2 pegs that you have to manuever around. Just push the box towards the carbs, It'll come out. Quote
Banshee~ Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 Take the lid off and take the two bolts at the back of the airbox out. Then losen the clamps from the back of the carbs. Take your radiator overflow tank off and I think you have to take your rear plastics off to do that. Now push the airbox toward the engine. There is a metal peice sticking out that the airbox has to clear before you can take it out. Quote
reded Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 And while ya got it out cut the two steel pegs off the frame or you'll be back asking how to put it back in. Trust me on this one! 1 Quote
Dunsmoor86 Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 What I did was remove just one of the tabs on the frame, still held the airbox up closer to the carbs also allowing me to remove my airbox easier. Quote
reded Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 I don't have the patience for that. After 10 minutes of fighting it I got pissed and hacked them. Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 You can put the airbox back in after cutting those pegs off? Shit i didn't know that Quote
Bansh88 Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 The day i removed my airbox was and still is one of the best days of my life. Quote
BdBanshee Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 I use those two pegs on the frame to attach my support bracket for my clamp-ons............... Quote
