Wallynut Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Kawasaki is said to be dropping the KX125 from it's line up this year. Go to a MX race. The AMA has put so many resrtictions on fuel and displacement, that 2 strokes can't hardly compete. Most bikes out there are 4st on the track. When you look at the off-road lineup(non-motocross) at the stealerships, it's nothing but 4st. The big bike makers are giving in to the EPA, unless they are secretly working on a fuel injection that might be able to revive 2st. I know some of the boat manufactures have been able to make headways, but the mapping is much harder for a bike with 2st motor where you expect instant throttle response. I recently bought a KTM 200exc for trail riding on single track trails, even this bike is changing this next year. Won't come with a factory spark arrestor because to comply with EPA, they are now saying this bike is for "closed course use only". KTM and GAS GAS are the only ones with an extensive lineup of 2st's anymore. They blow away the japs in that catagory. Hopefully I can make both my Banshee and KTM last for a long time. Couple more years, there won't be any new ones. Hope I'm wrong. Quote
Banshee1213 Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 Since you are fairly new to the site I won't flame you about this, but there is a search option at the top right portion of your screen, and it would be in your best interest to learn how to use it. This topic has been posted at least 20 times with the same answers in every one of them. Yes, 2 stroke quads will no longer be produced soon. The hippies have cried too much and unfortunately they won. Welcome to BansheeHQ! 400559[/snapback] sorry about that ill do that next time Quote
