i have the canon zr10 series...it a mini dv it fits in my camel back. get the "lanc" cable too it makes it so much eiser...and saves tape. i found mine on ebay for like $300...i see it as why spend $8-9 on something that is going to get broke in a crash... hope this helps

I have a Sony handcam mini DV. The LANC cable is a almost a must, saves battery and tape. I have the adventure cam as well and it works wonderfully with my camera. The mic is small and very sensitive for it's size. getting it mounted is in the works.

ok both u guys say something about a lanc cable? whats that andwhere do i get one? whats it for? the cameras im lookin at dont even use tapes. they use little dvd discs i think. 400 bucks is about what im gona spend. dont need a high dollar one that could possibly get broken. and im gonna try and get it at wal mart. theyll take anything back even without a receipt...handyman, do u have the model name of that camera such as (Sony DCR-HC320) or something like that.. thanks.

The LANC connection looks like a plug in for earphones like on a CD walkman. The LANC connection is like a wired remote control that plugs into your camera and has button and a light at one end. The LANC connection lets you start/stop recording and turn off your camera without even touching the actual video camera. So say like your camera is in a back pack and your hauling ass in the dunes or ona trail the LANC allows you do the above with the hit of a button so you don't have to stop and screw around with getting the camera out and turning it off etc......almost something that's required

Where can you get what???? if you are talking about the Lanc connection..it should come with viosport camera if you go the kit witht eh mic, battery, and all the connectors. If not then you can go to the website and purchase it. The camera I have is a Sony MiniDV handycam camcorder DCRTRV 22 I believe. I'll try to get video with it tomorrow. Most mid to high end camcorders now a days have the LANC connection
