Cotton eyed Joe Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 20lb for the head bolts. I don't know about the reed cages. I've just made them good and tight in the past. 398120[/snapback] Agreed. Since the cage gaskets are compressible rather than a steel gasket, just make sure they aren't torn anywhere tighten them down good. Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted July 28, 2005 Report Posted July 28, 2005 It's one of the areas where I don't torque either. ... The correct figure is pretty low @ 7.4 lb/ft so don't go mad and strip a thread or shear a bolt. Rare. Quote
Shee-Male Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 20lbs for the head with a "good torque wrench", then remember to re-torque after you get some heat cycles through it. For the reed cages "snug" would be the word, like cotton said the gaskets are compressible so no need to go crazy. Quote
