what gear

i have a 2003 banshee with tr6 pipes jetted and a pro flow air filter

 

 

i start in second gear in a race

 

is that oky for the atv

 

or am i loseing speed or power starting in 2 gear

 

whats the best way to start and what gear do you start in

stock gearing on dirt

 

i always started in sec

but sand its hard to take off in sec.

Normally taking off in second should be better.One less shift and eliminates accidentally hitting neutral.Depends on the surface you're racing on.The last time I was at little sahara,I raced one of my friend's banshee.I could get it to launch in second,but it didn't want to rev very fast.It launched harder in first.Might just have to experiment.

In sand I always start in 2nd, sometimes 3rd if it will pull it.

Usually second, but it's really hard to control the front end loft in second in sand.

in the sand i put it in 2nd or 3rd rev it up and drop the clutch works pretty good for a kid that weighs 125.

i start in first in all terrain (sand,dirt,and asphalt) with 17/41 gearing.

 

i love to hold her open for ever and feel the wind try to rip me off.
