hey guys here's why my life's sadder than any country song, lol.. i ordered a set of Shearer pipes and silencers from a shop out in CA. got em in and i ran them an hour or 2 and the chrome bubbled up n peeled off. so i sent them back and i just got them today,a month later <_< .

well after a careful inspection i realized all they did was clean them off and re dip them!!!! any chromers on here? shouldn't they have stripped them down to bare metal and done the job over? i don't see y do something if ur not gonna do it the right way, especially the 2nd time around.. i'm out 50 bucks in shipping so far and i don't think it's worth risking complaining again and sending them bak again? what would u do? all ur opinions are appreciated. i talked to loco about i and he couldn't believe it. sorry for the book, but i'm frustrayted and wasted a month of my summer riding time. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

If there was a problem with the original chrome or plating process, yes they sould of stripped it all the way down to the steel. It just increases the chance of the chrome under the last plating to bubble underneath. In a normal situation with chrome, like a scratch or something then no there is no need to strip the entire item, just smooth the area and rechrome.

So can you see the area's where the old plating was at? Like the lines where the peeled edges were? If so, send them mofo's back and tell them to do it right!!! You treat chrome just like paint. If paint peels you strip it all down, if it is chipped you sand it smooth and then repaint/replate.

first off, what does brad know about chrome and bling???

i'm gonna call him up and see if i can get some kind of instore credit or something. for me to ship them back now would be too costly. if i were to send em back i'm up to 75 just for shipping these things back and forth. i'd rather send them somewhere else and send him the bill. i can't wait to call this guy 2morrow. this whole situation sucks and his chromer sucks worse. yes brad u can see the lines where it peeled off before. funny thing is that the chrome u can tell that just filled in the spots stuck real good, i tried peelin it off and couldn't. SOOOO if they did it right then they would be perfect. but they went and half assed the job AND wasted a chrome bath. maybe someone can put some pics up for me i can take a few tomorrow if nebody wants to see.

THey should have been stripped before being rechromed. And touched up buff wise in the area the chrome flaked at. This can also be a sign on a lean setting. When I got my original rockets I ran them puppies for months nothing, no blueing nothing. Than I put on the cubs and ran lean on the pilot, being in the tight trails thats where I ended up at times and sure as shit they started flaking down by the cylinder.

Rocketboy you talking about the RDZ pipes. HaHa. You'd think he'd take the dyno off his website showing the EXACT same numbers torque and HP wise as Shears with the Exact same power lines.

And isn't that picture the same ones Shearer shows.
