TySk8er8808 Posted June 28, 2005 Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 okay i just bought a brand new clutch basket from vortec and new barnett clutch i was wonderin what is the correct way of ajustin the clutch, cause i went to silver lake last weekend and all it was doing is slippin, the motor was revin but not going no where. also iam on runnin 5 out of the 6 barnett springs cause they are so stiff would that make any difference Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
locogato11283 Posted June 28, 2005 Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 first off you need to be running either all 6 heavy duty springs or 3 heavy and 3 stock. as you have it right now you are getting uneven clutch pull which could be causing part of your problem. is there any play in the clutch? i usually leave about 1/8" of free play before the clutch will actually engage. how is yours setup?
