RIPPEN Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I finally found where the gear oil has been leaking from on my quad . I have changed out the o-ring on the back of the small plastic plate located just below the drive sprocket. After riding this weekend i looked and was able to see that leak is actually coming from the little screw on the plate. So my question is, what is the purpose of that screw and are you just supposed the tighten it all the way? Thanks for any info RIPPEN Quote
RBD Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 It is most likely that the plastic piece in cracked and needs to be replaced. The little screw that are talking about is for a neutral light wire that is not used on the Banshee, but they used this same shift drum cover since the 1970's road bikes. Quote

It was easy to see because the gear oil "washed" the sand from there. But it sounds like all I need to do is maybe tighten that screw. Thanks for the info? RIPPEN Quote
