SHNaY Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I had a nice looking set that lasted 1 DAY! F'n A!! One broke I pulled off the trail to put some trusty tie wraps on her and she was good as new. I figured I better take her easy cause the ties will probably not hold up for long. I went no more than 40 feet and she started screaming again. So I figured the tie wraps fell off.... BUT NO it was the other side now. Anyway it was tie wrapped up quicker this time cause I had some practice and knew just what to do anyway besides welding the silencers on what good hangers can you get? I really dont care what the look like I just want them to last at this point. Quote
racer Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 I know Stan of DuneDevilINC makes some for the pipes, but im not sure if has any for the silencers yet. check out his site and see. www.dunedevilinc.com Quote
fast87 Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 (edited) i'm cheap and own a welder so i cut some i think 1/2 or 3/4" long pieces of a big hex wrench(as wide as the old rubber pieces were, so everything lined up), cut and burned off the old rubber on all 4 of my stock mounts, then clamped the mounts in a bench vise with the pieces of buig hex wrench between them and proceeded to put big globs on weld all over them , to my surprise it has held up over 2 years and yes my welding skills have increased , also if you weld the top of the rear hangers it's hard to get a socket on there without grinding away some glob of weld to make the socket fit..anyway they work now and i rattled canned em silver, which is now rusting...ahh maybe i'll look for some good ones at dunefest this year ,s ince i'll be hacking off my front fenders the glos will be more noticeable ~Mark~ Edited May 31, 2005 by fast87 Quote
