03bluebansh Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 Well i put my lights back on last night just so i could do some night riding, well as soon as i flipped the switch on it would blow bulbs, tried hooked a different light up to it and it blew that bulb too, Are u suppse to get different bulbs with a timingf advance cause when i took my lights off i didnt have the timing advance yet Quote
BdBanshee Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 Something else is wrong, nobody I know has ever had that problem after advancing the timing. Quote
Big Blue Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Is it blowing your tail light out also? if so find a new rectifier and put that on, that is the only thing that I know of that will cause your head lights to blow like that. Quote
03bluebansh Posted May 31, 2005 Author Report Posted May 31, 2005 i dunno if it is blowin the taillight or not cause i didnt have it on there. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Yeah, you clipped/stripped/shorted a wire somewheres, somehow. Quote
sj820 Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Sounds like your voltage regulator is not wired to your harness correctly! There is a blue wire for your taillight coming out of the harness I believe and a blue wire coming off of the voltage regulator be sure the blue wire coming from your voltage regulator is not connected to the tailights blue wire. Take a look at the schematic and you will see. The one time I did not have my volage regulator hooked up I blew through two sets of bulbs before I realized it was my voltage regulator. Quote
