vince Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 I AM REPLACING A CRANK, CYLINDER, AND PISTON ON MY BANSHEE AND I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS ENGINE HAS EVER BEEN BORED. I DO SEE A NUMBER 200 ON TOP OF THE PISTONS, DOES THAT MEAN THAT IT IS BORED? AND IS NOT A .020 NUMBER, I AM POSITIVE THAT IT IS A 200 NUMBER ON TOP OF PISTON. ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED SO I CAN ORDER THE CORRECT PARTS. THANKS.. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted May 26, 2005 Report Posted May 26, 2005 The best and most accurate way to tell if the cylinder is bored and/or what bore it is on is by using a micrometer. Quote

You would probably be money ahead to bore both to the next size & replace both pistons & rings. Be sure your machinist does motorcycle cylinders regularly. Some guys don't chamfer the internal ports & if they don't it will snag a ring. Quote
