radiator dye

i just put some clear radiator hoses on my bike and was wondering if anyone knows of a dye u can put in the fluid to get a color scheme say instead of the clear greenish color which i have now to like a bright red?like would food coloring work in there is is that a bad idea?

That's what I'd do. But you're right to put up a post, just in case there's any 'chefs' around to give a reason why not to.

Did you buy a kit or use some hose from home-depot.

 

If not, does any one know if i can just get the dishwasher(not sure clear with white lines going through ) hose from home depot. Will this handle up to the heat?

i used the reinforced clear hose from home depot and it holds up fine

normal cooking liquid food coloring will work fine. you will need quite a bit of red to overpower the green shit though.

if you dont wanna use food coloring, u could aways just flush out the green stuff and ues that Dexcool stuff(the red antifreeze)

the home depot ones will hold up for quite a while (mine for 2 years), BUT when thye did go, they let the green stuff all over my leg - ouch, it was pre-rockets, so I was wearing shorts.

It works, it's blueish/purple....
