Timing

I am going to add an adjustable timing plate to my motor. Where is a good place to start with the timing?? Before tdc or after tdc?? I want to get as much as I can from the motor. any help will be appreciated.

4-5 degrees btdc (advanced)

You want to be advancing the timing. ... BTDC.

 

2 to 4 degrees of advance should be plenty safe. You can go as far as 7 or 8 degrees advance, but you need to be clued in with your mods to advance that far.

i run mine on +4 and it's great out of the corners
